I purchased this for my husband's smoker that we bought for him 10 years ago. It was easy to assemble and we are pleased with how much higher it now is and will be easier and less back breaking to cook on it. It is nice that it is not as big as the others as we have a smaller deck. The pictures in the assembly directions could have been clearer.
I was fortunate to purchase a Grill Dome from an individual that never had used the thing. Moving the cooker onto my patio proved to me right away the unit would benefit from a mobile stand. I liked the price from Grill Dome accessories' listing. Four days later I had it on hand and it took about 45 minutes to assemble which included a trip to hardware to buy a set of metric wrenches. Grill Dome sells a perfect solution to lift the cooker up and into the stand. I used a refrigerator dolly, with a moving blanket to skid the cooker and stacked the unit laying on its side, down on the floor. I was glad I opted for a movable stand. My Grill Dome is a first-time experience with a wood-burning appliance. I wasn't sure about the optimal location for cooking. First fire-up and the Grill Dome made perfect steaks and the convenience of monitoring the cooking at waist height was appreciated.
