The ash pan fits in the bottom of the firebox of your kamado to trap the ashes below the air intakes, creating better airflow. It has airflow slots to help keep a steady temperature and control temperature better. The ash pan can hold ashes for three to four cooks. When ready to clean, simply remove the charcoal basket and then remove the ash pan and discard the ashes.
