The drip pan can be used on the Descender for the Stack and Rack System or in tandem with an ICR - Indirect cooking rack.  Use the drip pan to catch drippings from fatty means, which will prevent any flare ups.  Also the metal drip pan can be used as a heat diffuser to create more event heat around food.
